Our History
Located near the Via Aurélia and surrounded by remains of Roman villas, the origins of the Domaine des Annibals go back very far.
Our Landscape
Vines and cereals were grown there on small plots, where stone sheds, olive and fig trees form magnificent landscapes. The streams still sing their crystalline music.
Arrival at the Estate
The visitor, upon arriving at the Domaine, can still witness the stone-paved area formerly used for treading wheat, before entering the 12th century cellar now dedicated to the presentation of wines. To enjoy the beautiful Provençal days, he can then settle down in the shade of the pergola in the landscaped park facing the Louis XIII bastid.
Time has passed, the name has renamed…
Over the generations, the strong and courageous winegrowers who cultivated these lands would have adopted as a common name "Annibal", in reference to the famous Carthaginian conqueror Hannibal who would have passed by there with his elephants two centuries BC during the second Punic war.
Thus, the elephant proudly appears on the labels of our wines.
